What Show Should I Do??? HHHMMM......

The most difficult decision a director must make is usually not who to cast in his show, but what show to do! Certainly, we all have our favorites! There are shows that we simply love to do because they are beautiful, or fun, or challenging. But that does not mean that we feel confident that we have the talent within our acting pool to do a particular show justice. Perhaps we are blessed with a quantity and quality of male performers that require a show that will allow them equal opportunity to showcase their talents. Usually, we are blessed with a quality of female performers......sometimes, we are just blessed with quantity!!

Many times, budget constraints put the power of veto to productions requiring elaborate sets and costumes. All Dressed Up is always willing to chat about productions and share ideas. Our costumers are full of creative ways to solve problems, and we are blessed with the opportunity to learn from them and work as a conduit to share with others. All Dressed Up's staff will always have a suggestion or two! "Once Upon a Mattress" for example is a delightful spin off of the Princess and the Pea. It is a light hearted musical that spotlights many cast members...each with the chance to be a star.

The chorus can get away with wearing one costume throughout the show if budgets are tight, and the scenery can all be suggestive or as elaborate as your budget and technical director can create.....imagine a castle...complete with moat!!! The costumes are bright and colorful with oversized, cartoon-esque hats. FUN FUN FUN

Have great dancers?..."Crazy for You" is for you! There are lots of great "lead" roles, zany but believable characters that are fun to play, and the standard, well known songs will have your audience singing along!

If you have great voices.."lnto the Woods" is the answer! This dark fairy tale musical features a fabulous selection of roles, music, and an unlimited source of creativity for technical thespians as well as the performers. All Dressed Up developed prosthetics for "The Witch" and "The Wolf" to finish off a professional look to this show, and can assist you in making those quick changes effortless.
